Janet Smith
President

Janet's career in insurance began more than 25 years ago at a wholesale brokerage in Nashville. After four years of service, she moved to help start another brokerage - BSR. In 2009, Janet had the opportunity to purchase BSR along with two long term associates of the company, Sandy Hall and Vickie Harmon. As the current president of BSR, she continues to market the company products and services, teach coverage to clients and agents, assist in strategic risk placement, and work extensively with insurance carriers to keep BSR in the forefront of knowledge. Janet enjoys vacationing at the beach, watching college sports, and spending time on the lake with family and friends.

Sandy entered the insurance industry when she joined BSR in 2002.   She is currently Vice President of Underwriting for BSR, and one of BSR's three owners. In 2007, she obtained the Certified Insurance Counselor designation which she maintains with the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. Additionally, she is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society which is the recognized primary source for professional educational programs and networks.   In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, antiquing, travel, and hanging out with her awesome grandson.

Vickie Harmon

VP & CFO

Vickie entered the insurance industry when she joined BSR as the Staff Accountant back in 2001. Since then she's held the additional positions of Operations Manager, Assistant Vice President, and is currently the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, and one of the three owners of BSR. Vickie is actively involved in the International Association of Insurance Professionals, and the Institute of Management Accountants. In her free time she enjoys running, traveling, and volunteering within the local community.

Jennifer Vaughn

Account Manager

Jennifer had more than 15 years in the insurance industry when she joined BSR in 2011. In her spare time she likes to attend concerts, read, and rescue animals.

Anita has worked in the insurance industry for more than twenty years. Her career includes working on both the retail and wholesale sides of the industry. She joined the BSR team in 2013. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.

Debbie has been with Bailey Special Risks, Inc. since 2014 and has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years. She has held various positions with local insurance companies and agents in the commercial lines department. In her free time she enjoys reading, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering within the community.

Amber joined BSR in 2014 as the Operations Assistant. Since then she has taken on many additional duties, including Internal, State, and Federal Compliance as well as Accounts Payable and Retailer Contracts. In her free time she enjoys playing with her 3 rescue dogs.

Sheri joined our team in 2016 as our General Assistant for the office. Her duties include setting up new business, verifying retailers' Errors & Omissions updates, and sending out goodies and care packages from our office. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her pets.
