  No. The policy does not indemnify the insured for lost revenues or profits.
Is this quarantine coverage? return to top
No. Extra Expense should never be referred to as "Pandemic Coverage," "Avian Flue Coverage" or "Quarantine Coverage."

If the police department closes down an operational premises due to an incident of illness, will coverage be triggered? return to top
No. An operational premise must be closed by a public health official, except as provided for in the Workplace Violence Coverage component. For example, if a police officer or public safety officer suspends operations at an operational premise due to workplace violence, suicide or homicide, coverage is triggered, to a maximum of five(5) days.
What limits are available? return to top
Location limits can range from $2,500 - $50,000 per day limit. There is a 30 day location aggregate.
What documentation is needed to submit a claim? return to top
Evidence of a closure by a public health official is the main element needed when submitting a claim.
Isn't there coverage under a GL policy? return to top
There would be coverage under a GL policy for third party BI and PD. There would be no first party coverage because it is not a special or basic peril.

Yes, as long as an insured's "operational premises" are closed by order of a public health official.

  No. Coverage is only triggered under the insured's policy by a contagion or illness in his/her own operational premise.

No. Both are specifically excluded within the coverage form.
Can both the tenant and lessor buy coverage for the same location? return to top
Yes, they an both buy coverage for their individual "operational locations."
