Janet Edwards Smith is the President of BSR and also fills the role of Business Development Manager. She is responsible for our retail agency visits, planning Continuing Education classes, carrier relationships, assisting in marketing and marketing strategy, and attending insurance special events and conventions.

Janet has been involved with BSR for over 17 years and in many capacities. She originally helped launch the company with Jim & Nancy Edwards by handling many technical assistant tasks. Throughout the years she has stepped in and out of the company in many part-time roles. |

Prior to joining BSR, Janet worked for 3 years with Greenwich American Underwriters, Inc. as an account manager. Before starting her career in the insurance industry she was a retail buyer for the Cain Sloan Department Stores in Nashville. She attended Austin Peay University. |

Away from the office, Janet enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, home decorating, shopping and walking. She hopes to take up golf sometime in the near future but isn't sure she will ever be able to give it the huge amount of time needed. |
